The interior of Minute Maid Park, just a few blocks from my room in the Hilton. An interesting ballpark, with a retractable roof and a bank of windows looking out on downtown Houston.
And for god knows what reason, a train running along a short track above left field. With every Astros home run, the whistle blows and the train makes its short trip down the track in celebration.
From my seat in section 119, 15 rows behind home plate, i was able to get this neat pic of Wandy Rodriguez delivering to Ken Griffey Jr. On this pitch Griffey hit a foul ball that landed several rows in front of me. As it turns out, this was future Hall of Famer Griffey's last game with the Reds, as he was traded to the Chicago White Sox the very next day.
The neon roof of the Toyota Center, home of the Houston Rockets. This was the view from From my room on the 13th (?!) floor of the Hilton. Between the aforementioned Griffey trade and the Rockets' acquisition of cantankerous forward Ron Artest, i was in the epicenter of a lot of wheeling and dealing.
